The Vincent J. Poerio Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Living Free Health to honor Vincent’s belief in recovery, personal responsibility, second chances, and giving back to others. The scholarship recognizes individuals who have demonstrated resilience, embraced recovery, and are committed to building a brighter future while helping those around them.
Beginning in 2027, two $1,000 unrestricted scholarships will be awarded annually to rural or frontier Nevada residents who are actively engaged in their recovery journey. Unlike traditional scholarships, these awards may be used wherever recipients believe they will have the greatest impact—whether for housing, transportation, education, family needs, or other expenses that support long-term stability and success.
Recipients are selected through an application, essay, and interview process that highlights recovery, mentorship, merit, and altruism—the values that Vincent lived by. Donations to the scholarship fund help provide meaningful support to individuals working to transform their lives while carrying Vincent’s legacy of hope and second chances forward.
